Top 5 Finalist in UTD’s UX Club 2023 Design Challenge
The Design Challenge is a four-week event hosted by UTD's UX club that challenges students to solve a problem. After the 4 weeks, five finalists are chosen to present at a banquet in front of a panel of judges that consists of the event sponsor (Intuit), UTD Professors, and industry professionals. Career Compass was awarded a top 5 placement.

More research... & More!
With so much time, we were able to conduct copious amounts of research, including conducting a survey to ask our peers about their struggles with their careers. We also conducted several interviews with our peers to get even more insight. Following this, we were also able to complete competitor research & analyses, affinity diagrams, user personas, and a user journey. After we collected all our data, we created a features list and were able to move on to prototyping and branding!
Logo + Branding
For Career Compass, we wanted something simple and recognizable. We ultimately landed on incorporating the compass onto the logo. We also decided to go with the colors purple and yellow for a more professional and academic-like appearance.
Finally getting to the fun part
It’s finally time to see Career Compass come to life!

Just kidding. Fun fact: I actually do not drink coffee at all.
Anyways, we were finally able to finish the prototype for Career Compass! After submitting our project, we were notified that we had been picked as one of the top 5 contestants to present in front of a panel of judges at the Design Challenge banquet. During the event, we were able to network with other finalists and answer questions about our app! Oh, and get free food, of course.
